Laminate Flooring – Glossary

This is a low cost budget product made normally from HDF (High Density Fibreboard) on to which is applied a melamine impregnated decorative paper which can take the appearance of wood (often Oak), marble, granite or alternatively various other flooring materials.

The facing is very hard wearing but once scratched or damaged is virtually impossible to repair, unlike solid and engineered wood flooring, both of which can easily be repaired in most instances of wear or light damage.

Laminate flooring is available in both a glue T&G system and in a modern click system requiring no glue.
