Oak floor boards should last a lifetime provided that they are respected and maintained. They are easily repaired when necessary. Oak flooring can be sanded and refinished in situ. It provides a hygienic floor surface which harbours less dust and far fewer allergens than most alternative floor coverings such as carpet, particularly of the deep pile variety.

Yorkshire Wolds Flooring offers an extensive collection of premium quality solid oak plank flooring in its warehouse premises, 15 miles East of York city centre.
The hardwood used in all Yorkshire Wolds Flooring Ltd.’s solid floor boarding originates from temperate forests throughout North America, Europe and forests further afield.
Selected sawn hardwood logs are overlaid for a number of weeks, then sawn and naturally air dried before being gently kiln dried to a moisture content averaging 10 per cent by weight. The oak and walnut floor boards are then machined to a robust tongue and groove flooring section and end tenoned to the same tooling profile, thus providing a very precise fit both side to side and end to end. The machined but unfinished oak and walnut flooring is then machine sanded and also wire brushed to give depth of grain and texture if required. The floor boards are then further processed through state of the art finishing plant, to a variety of beautifully attractive finishes (having been brushed/distressed/fumed/limed or hand scraped as required).
