We work with a small number of trusted and highly experienced wood floor installers who can travel the length and breadth of the UK. If a careful expert installation of your prestigious wood floor purchase is "a must" then please speak to us. It must be stressed, however, that small projects many miles away from our Yorkshire base may prove not to be economically viable.
The professional wood floor fitters employed by Yorkshire Wolds Flooring are experienced in all methods of wood floor installation.
Fixing methods offered depend on individual site situations & conditions and and also on client’s or architect’s stipulations. The methods include:-
- Fully glued down onto solid screed
- Floated over solid screed/ joists/ plywood / chipboard
- Secret nailed to joists / plywood
- Secret screwed to chipboard
- Face fixed to joists / plywood / chipboard and plugged
When considering hardwood flooring, always be aware that the complex task of installation of either solid wood or engineered floor boards, is best given to an expert wood floor installer. A trained and experienced wood floor fitter will have the wherewithal to assess site conditions, measure and record moisture / humidity levels, assess the suitability of the subfloor, address any likely issues, suggest the most appropriate fixing method and materials to be used and be able to install the floor to the client’s complete satisfaction. Such a fitter will also be able to advise with regard to the care and maintenance of your wooden floor. Be aware that a dedicated carpet fitter or laminate fitter might well not have the required training or experience required.
